Chapter 9: A Father & Son Love: The Redemption of Lyfe Itself

It had been a couple weeks since Trey and I had been dating, which make the happiest person alive even thought I was at longest low at school when I was going to take my own life away from the people who care about me. I've gotten a surprise knock on my door which I don't ever have people over on a weekend unless the weed-man when he bring my weed but anyways, I got up from the couch as I was working on a project that I had doing for the past month and a half,  and opened the door and it was my father.  I said with the frustration and anger that I had in my head, "What in the hell brings in here for since you never gave a flying cockroach about me and my brother since you abandoned like a thief of the night, man. Why you're here?!" Then he said with the response but with a positive attitude, " I know it doesn't changes things from the past but I'm here now to make it right and to let you know that I want that son and father relationship that I didn't have with my own dad, where he wasn't there till 26 years old and pushed him away. I just don't want to make that mistake again, Lyfe."  I took a big and deep breath after he said that to me because I had to realize that he had learned the hurtful things that he had learned from his childhood, but in my mind, I was just over it because I only had to forgive him, only for myself because I wasn't going to let that hurt affect my blessings in my life. I just said to him in a calm tone and it was, "Pops, I know that we had a rocky relationship but i think that we could manage on making it better because you love me and I love you. I'm willing to make it work as long as you are. No back pleading, okay?!"  Shawn said with tears in his eyes and a smile, "Okay, Son. I love you too. " Then, we sat down on the coach and talked for the rest of the time like a father and son should be but he had to leave early to help out my mom to moved out that jerk, Alfredo's things out of our own home while she was out and mailed the divorcee papers to him and his lawyer.
